Causeway Breaks the Silence

🚨 URGENT CALL – MEN, WE NEED YOU! 🚨

On 1st December, something powerful is happening on the North Coast (Portrush/Portstewart). We’re hosting a major event as part of the 16 Days of Activism to raise awareness about gender-based violence – and we can’t do it without YOU.

For too long, rural areas like the North Coast have been left out of these conversations. But this time? NOT A CHANCE. Causeway Pride and Unison, along with other partners, are making sure our message is loud, clear, and impossible to ignore.

📢 MEN, IT’S TIME TO SHOW UP.
Since 2020, 24 women have been murdered in Northern Ireland, and 23 of them were killed by men. It gets worse – 1 in 2 women who are raped are assaulted by their partner or ex-partner. This stops now. We need men to be allies, to take action, and to be leaders in this fight. Will you stand with us?

🔹 Got talent? We’re calling for actors and theatre enthusiasts to bring impactful short plays/sketches (3-5 mins) to life. Make people stop, listen, and act. Know someone who can? We want to hear from you!

🔹 Know a familiar face? We’re creating a video montage of men – especially well-known men – reading a pledge against gender violence. Get involved, or help us find the right people to make an impact.

🔹 Want to make a bold statement? We need passionate people to join our flash mob and draw attention in a big way.

Northern Ireland is one of the most dangerous places in Europe for women and children. This cannot continue. It’s time for all of us to take the message to the streets – and we need you right there with us.
