It's Christmas!!! 🎁 Come and join us on a NEW festive trip to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty! The idea is to combine hiking, fantastic local cuisine, fun Christmas activities and sightseeing.

Departing early on Saturday morning, we'll head to the historic town of Church Stretton, in the heart of the Shropshire Hills. Starting from there, we'll do a superb hike, taking in the picturesque Carding Mill Valley, Lightspout Waterfall and the Long Mynd ridge. This circular walk provides wonderful views from the summits and a variety of terrain – rocky and steep at start (one can almost feel being in the mountains!), then easy walking over heather-covered hills. After the hike, we have booked a table for our group at Miller & Carter Steakhouse (veg options available) – one of the best places in the area! Everyone is welcome to participate in the Secret Santa! 🎅🏻 You can also visit Telford Christmas Market 🎄 (next to our hotel, open until 9 PM) and enjoy some live music 🎶.

On Sunday, we'll do another famous Shropshire hike – to the stunning, ragged, quartzite ridge of the Stiperstones. We'll walk along the ridge passing the quartzite tors of Shepherd's Rock, the Devil's Chair and Manstone Rock. Manstone is the highest point at 536 metres and commands fabulous views over the Shropshire Hills, the Long Mynd and Wales. After the hike, we'll stop for a delicious lunch at the traditional 18th-century Stiperstones Inn. One more hightlight after lunch – the Ironbridge Gorge UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for being the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution! We'll stop next to the famous Iron Bridge to take pictures. Weighing 378 tonnes and spanning 30 metres, it was the first bridge in the world to be made of cast iron.

Join us for a very special Christmas trip to the ‘prettiest villages in England’ – Castle Combe and Lacock! The idea is to combine hiking, sightseeing and visiting Bath Christmas Market, recognised as one of the best in the UK and Europe! To get us into a truly festive Christmas mood, we'll have mulled wine and mince pies for everybody to enjoy! 🍷🥧

**TRIP HIGHLIGHTS**

* Visit Castle Combe – a quintessentially English village, often called the prettiest village in the UK. The village has been completely untouched by time, with no new houses built since the 1600s! Major Hollywood films have been shot here, such as *The Wolf Man*, *Stardust* and Stephen Spielberg’s *War Horse*.
* Admire 15th-century honey-coloured Cotswold stone cottages and the old packhorse bridge.
* Explore beautiful valleys, wooded hillsides and picturesque streams of the South Cotswolds.
* Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the charming village of Lacock. This medieval village features numerous half-timbered houses and has appeared on screen in several productions, notably *Harry Potter*, *Downton Abbey*, and *Pride and Prejudice*.

We’re off to Norfolk! The seals in Norfolk are truly one of the county’s most special sights. Without any doubt, they're an incredible WOW factor and one that you must see!

On this day hike, we'll walk along the top of the sand dunes and enjoy stunning panoramic views across the North Sea. On our way, we'll pass the much-loved grey seal colony at Horsey Beach, which draws thousands of visitors each year, **particularly between November and March**, when the seals come ashore to breed. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of seals and their pups stretching for as far as the eye can see!

The whole walk is in the Broads National Park – one of fifteen national parks in the UK. You'll discover its iconic windmills, navigable waterways and broads (man-made, shallow lakes). With over 125 miles of lock-free waterways, the Norfolk Broads have more miles of waterway than Venice or Amsterdam, and are an extremely popular boating holiday destination! Locals like to call the Broads ‘the Venice of the East’.

**HIKE HIGHLIGHTS**

* Watch seals and their young from a close distance at Horsey Gap, home to one of the biggest colonies of grey seals in Britain.
* Take a gentle stroll over the vast open expanse of the golden sand dunes of Winterton Beach – a Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest. The area is a veritable haven for birds and all kinds of wildlife and is widely regarded as having the best sand dunes in Norfolk.
* See the spectacular Horsey Windpump – the youngest and largest windpump in the Norfolk Broads. It was built in 1912 to pump water out from the surrounding land so that it could be used for farming.
* Discover Horsey Mere, often regarded as one of the most beautiful of the northern broads and famous for its internationally important wildlife.
* Walk the newly opened stretch of the England Coast Path – a new National Trail around all of England's coast, which once completed will be the longest coastal walking route in the world (4,500 kilometres in length!).

Join us for the iconic Three Peaks in Three Days Challenge – a fantastic adventure and a great way to experience the best mountain ranges that Britain has to offer in one long weekend! The Three Peaks in Three Days Challenge involves climbing the highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales over three days, one peak per day, whilst taking in the magnificent scenery these countries have to offer.

To maximise the enjoyment and the chances of successful ascents of all peaks, we'll travel to Scotland one day before, on Friday, staying overnight near Glasgow. We'll then start with Ben Nevis (1,345m) on Saturday, climb Scafell Pike (978m) in England on Sunday and finish with Snowdon (1,085m) in Wales on Monday! All routes will be guided by an experienced Mountain Leader, who has completed this challenge many times in the past (including the much tougher National Three Peaks Challenge in 24 Hours!). Throughout the whole trip, we'll use a private minibus with a dedicated professional driver.

**ITINERARY**

Day 1 – Friday:

07:45 meet outside Hotel Novotel London West, 1 Shortlands, W6 8DR;
08:00 sharp departure;
13:00 stop at services for lunch;
18:00 check-in at Premier Inn Glasgow East Kilbride Central Hotel, dinner and free time;

Day 2 – Saturday:

07:00 breakfast at the hotel;
08:00 transfer, with one stop (15 min) at services to buy packed lunch;
11:15-19:00 climbing Ben Nevis (1,345m), the highest peak of Scotland;
22:00 back to our hotel in Glasgow;

Day 3 – Sunday:

08:00 breakfast at the hotel;
09:00 transfer, with one stop (15 min) at services to buy packed lunch;
12:30-17:00 climbing Scafell Pike (978m), the highest peak of England;
20:30 check-in at Premier Inn Runcorn Hotel, dinner and free time;

**DIFFICULTY & EQUIPMENT**

Over three days, you'll trek around 23 miles (37km) and ascend to a total height of almost 3,000 metres. This is a serious and tough challenge, which requires a very good level of fitness, as well as plenty of grit and determination. Ultimately, however, your hard work will be rewarded with spectacular views and a huge sense of achievement!

Good hiking boots with ankle support and waterproof clothing are essential on this trip.

**TRANSPORT**

As on most of our trips, we'll travel in a comfortable 16-seater minibus.
