Join us for an engaging hour of focused productivity! In this virtual meetup, we’ll utilize the principles of parallel play and the Pomodoro technique to create a supportive environment for accomplishing individual tasks. Feel free to craft, clean, exercise, read, color, game, or tackle that junk drawer with a supportive community here to keep each other motivated!

Our task sprints are set up with two blocks of focused time on our chosen tasks, followed by short timed breaks to step away, get a snack, chat about what you're reading or doing, or refill your cozy drink. While in focused time our mics are muted as we silently complete our tasks as a group, we unmute and socialize as a group during our breaks. The host will share a silent timer to help keep track of intervals. You can have your camera on if you'd like to show your progress while you read, clean, or play. Just be sure you are dressed "family friendly". We also love photobombs by fur-babies!

Parallel play involves working alongside others while focusing on personal tasks. This approach can be especially beneficial for individuals with ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions. It fosters a sense of community and reduces feelings of isolation, providing a motivating atmosphere. The presence of peers can enhance focus and accountability, making it easier to dive into tasks.

The Pomodoro technique involves breaking work into focused intervals (typically 20 minutes), followed by timed short breaks. This method can help:

By combining these two strategies, our meetup creates a unique space for productivity, encouraging participants to focus on their tasks while benefiting from the supportive presence of others.

Join NYG for a refreshing hour to lift your spirits during the midweek slump! Join us from home, work, your car, or a scenic spot! We’ll start with a calming 15-minute meditation—sometimes guided, sometimes a peaceful moment of silence. Feel free to bring your fur-friends and your favorite drink! Afterward, share something that brought you joy this week, whether it’s a personal story, a funny cat meme, or a simple moment of happiness. Having your camera off is okay but, consider having it on, smiles are contagious! Let’s connect, inspire one another, and spread some positivity together!

Join Not Your Gimp ATL Disabled and Neurodiverse Community for a fun afternoon discussing books and making new friends at our Disability Book Club & Social Meetup. This inclusive in-person event is intended for adults with disabilities who have a passion for reading. All are welcome to come together to share your love for literature.

We understand that in-person events are not optimal or possible for everyone to enjoy. If you are not one for in-person events, check back at the end of September when we will switch to our Weekly Virtual Winter Event: "Get it Done" Focused Task Sprints for Reading, Crafting, Cleaning, Gaming, or just to mark some tasks off your to-do list with some chill friends. The Summer reading recommendations will be up on our discord. As a member, you can participate in the Summer Book Club discussion of disability topics by sharing what you are reading this summer on our discord. Message the host for an invite if you need access.

**Disability related fictional and non-fictional books will be recommended by the host but, the event is Bring Your Own Book, so feel free to read and chat about whatever you're interested in. We just ask that you try to find disability themes, activism, or ableism in the book you choose, in order to add to these topics of discussion with the group.**
