We will meet on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 09:45 am at the Rock Canyon Swim Beach
parking lot to start our hike at 10:00 am. From there we will hike about 1/2 mile to an interesting geological formation called the Golden Spike. The formation is near the top of the dam. From there we will walk back downhill to the parking lot and then continue on to the Arkansas River Trail and walk approximately 1.5 miles and then return back to our starting point. Our hike will be approximately 2 to 2.5 hrs. Come join us!

Meetup:

Enter the Reservoir on Juniper Rd from either the North or the South ranger entrance. Off Juniper Road turn East on Vineyard Drive to the parking lot which is just a short distance. There is plenty of parking there.

Weather update will be provided the night before.

Be sure to bring water and a snack for yourself and your dog. Good walking/hiking shoes are recommended plus hiking poles if you like. Dress comfortably in layers according to the weather.
