PyHouston Technical Talks : Introduction to NiceGui

We’ve lined up an exciting main technical talk that will showcase innovative ideas in Python, followed by lightning talks where community members present quick, interesting projects or tips. It’s a great opportunity to learn, network, and collaborate.

• Description: Brief introduction to the event, agenda rundown, and announcements.

### Main Technical Talk

• Time: 6:40 PM – 7:20 PM
• Title: Introduction to NiceGui
• Speaker: Jonny Nguyen
• Description: NiceGui is a nice alternative to Dash. We are currently switching our apps from Dash to NiceGui. NiceGui offer great freedom in how you design your components and layout. We use NiceGui to build data visualization for our data science projects, However It can be used for generic web application development as well.
• Bio: Jonny is a Software Engineer with over 15+ years of experience in banking and oil gas industry. He is well versed in back-end and front-end technologies and has a passion for solving challenging problems. He has worked on complex systems utilizing microservice architecture with pub and sub concepts. He is proficient in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, GraphQL and Database Design.
  Jonny has a very interesting background. He was raised in Sweden and attend basic training in Swedish Military. When he is not working, he spends most of his time with his families and his hobbies which are watching anime/movies, reading, astronomy and learning new technologies.

### Lightning Talks

• Time: 7:30 PM – 8:00 PM
• Description: 5-minute talks on various Python-related topics. Lightning talks are meant to be quick and informal, showcasing small projects, tools, or quick tips. Lightning talk sign-ups are at the event!
• Format: Each speaker has 5 minutes to present, followed by 2 minutes for questions.
