A Python based GitHub Action to automate the package generation of a Debian Package.
2. Michael Tiemann: Calculating Climate Scores with Python
Increasingly companies report non-financial data (such as carbon emissions and carbon intensity) alongside their financial reports. Michael Tiemann will talk about his work trying to compare reports across regions and sectors to compute a metric called "Implied Temperature Rise" to score companies' alignment with climate targets.
Michael Tiemann has been programming computers for 50 years. He authored the GNU C++ compiler in 1987, started the world's first Open Source Software company in 1989, became Red Hat's CTO in 2000, and started learning Python in 2020. He currently volunteers as Project Lead for OS-Climate, a Linux Foundation project. He is currently living in Wellington.
Python talks! Python people! Discussions from how to start learning Python through to debugging your robot pirate spaceship avionics controller library. Or whatever. There is also pizza and soft drinks and BEER. :)
