GARDEN TOUR | AUTUMN AT DUKE MANSION GARDENS LED BY DIRECTOR OF GARDENS | $5
Details
Autumn colors are everywhere. Come enjoy the beauty of the season in one Charlotte's most beautiful gardens at Duke Mansion. If you are new to Charlotte or not familiar with this local treasure, come join us for an early evening stroll through the gardens and greenery.
Built in 1915, the Duke Mansion is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and located in the heart of Myers Park. James B. Duke who founded Duke University and Duke Energy is the most famous resident of the home. To celebrate the property’s 100th anniversary, the 4.5-acre gardens surrounding the home were renovated and named in memory of Duke’s grandniece, Mary DBT Semans.
For our event, Lindsey Daywalt, Director of Gardens, will guide us through the gardens on a 45-60 minute tour. Appealing to both garden enthusiasts and novices, the tour is an exploration of plants, garden planning and types of gardens. Sunny gardens, shady gardens and areas of both -- it’s the ideal setting to celebrate the fall season.
