For those who wish to arrive at 5 PM for early dinner or to get a head start on gaming, it is suggested to post a message in the Comments section below, send a private message to others here on Meetup, or communicate with others offline.
VENUE AND TIME ALLOTTED
The Clubhouse is a bar and restaurant located at 377 Denton Ave. in New Hyde Park, Nassau County on Long Island (on the premises of Spring Rock Golf Center). The phone number is (516) 873-1110. Our point of contact is Brian, the manager. You can also visit the website for more information about the venue:
https://www.theclubhouseny.com/
For those who drive, there is a large parking lot for both golfing and restaurant patrons.
For those commuting by mass transit, the N22 and N26 bus lines stop nearby on Hillside Ave. The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) stops nearby as well (New Hyde Park Station).
This event is usually held in the far corner of the venue, close to the patio. Sometimes when there is a party or special event, we occupy the front of the venue instead.
Members arrive and leave at various times, therefore there is no obligation to stay for the entire time allotted. It is encouraged to post in the Comments section what time you are arriving/leaving. The event usually ends between 10 and 10:30 PM.
PROTOCOL
This venue is a place of business willing and able to accommodate our group. Although there is no minimum required dollar amount to be spent, please provide enough patronage and refrain from bringing outside food and drink.
Please RSVP responsibly. If your status changes, please update accordingly. Providing the estimated time frame you plan on arriving within and any other updates here on the message board is appreciated as well.
WHAT TO EXPECT
If you're looking for a fun and friendly group of people to play a variety of games with, join us for a Saturday meetup at The Clubhouse.
Newcomers are always welcome! Growing up, most of us played children's games (ex: Candyland, Sorry, Connect Four) and classic games (ex: Checkers, Chess, Scrabble, Monopoly). Gaming has truly evolved since then, with an increase in volume of games/categories created along with an increase in complexity and sophistication of rules and strategies. This is a whole other world of games that you may never heard of, however there will be others who bring games and will teach you (see list below - you can also go to YouTube to preview and familiarize yourself with these games).
Bringing your own games is not mandatory, however if you possess any, feel free to bring them as there are always people looking to learn something new or to find a new favorite board game.
Also, it is recommended and encouraged to use the message board here to indicate which games are being brought and would like to be played.
You can also check out our Facebook page as well:
