What we’re about
Welcome to Queer Global! 🌍✨
This Meetup group is dedicated to creating a vibrant and inclusive space for Queer Global Majority individuals including migrants, refugees and asylum seekers.
Queer – An umbrella term which embraces a matrix of sexual preferences, orientations, and habits of the not-exclusively- heterosexual-and-monogamous majority; also a sexual orientation or gender identity label denoting a non-heterosexual and/or non-cisgender orientation.
Global majority refers to people who are "black, Asian, brown, dual-heritage, indigenous to the global south, and or have been racialised as 'ethnic minorities'" and "represent approximately 80% of the world's population", according to educator and activist Rosemary Campbell-Stephens, who coined the term.
