Sunday Series - Aqueduct Hike - Croton - Harmon to Ossining
Details
Hello Hikers,
This is a great fall hike, well late summer early fall this year. Some of the nicest parts of the Aqueduct Trail are on this stretch. The Croton Dam is spectacular and not to be missed.
This should be a relatively easy hike on the Croton Aqueduct trail which is flat and wide. There will be one section where we scramble down a narrow path on our way to the Croton Dam. We will need to pay attention to leaves and stones.
Meet at the Grand Central information booth at 9:30. We will take the 9:50 to Croton Harmon arriving at 10:45. If you are driving meet the group at the Croton Harmon station where there are plenty of parking spaces. You can take the train one stop from Ossining back to Croton Harmon.
Please buy your ticket before meeting the group. Purchase a round trip ticket to Ossining or Croton Harmon which are the same price (Approx $22.50 off peak).
Be ready for a 12 mile hike that I expect will take 5-6 hours.
Bring plenty of water and a packed lunch. We will have lunch at the Croton Dam.
Follow the link for more details. Note I am reversing this hike and starting in Croton Harmon.
