Modelface Comedy Presents: Comedy For Community
Locals supporting locals is the heart of Asheville.
Comedy for Community brings all your favorite local comedians together each week at Catawba Brewing to support the town we love through a variety of local charities and organizations. This month we are partnering with Pisgah Legal Services!
Come laugh and learn and support your neighbors.
Pisgah Legal Services seeks to pursue justice by providing legal assistance and advocacy to help low-income people in Western North Carolina meet their basic needs and improve their lives.
Pisgah Legal Services is an innovative nonprofit founded in 1978 that:
*provides free civil legal aid to people who live in poverty;
*helps more than 23,000 of the most vulnerable people in our communities annually to meet urgent needs such as: housing, safety from abuse, health care and income;
*partners with dozens of other agencies to make sustainable change for people in crisis;
*coordinates the services of more than 250 pro bono attorneys in WNC;
*improves systems and policies that impact the lives of thousands of low-income people.
They employ staff attorneys and work with hundreds of area lawyers who generously volunteer their time and talent to help the people of our mountain region.
Pisgah Legal Services provides a broad array of free, civil legal aid, anti-poverty advocacy and access to health care in 18 counties and the Qualla Boundary in Western North Carolina. Program availability varies by county depending on the availability and scope of funding.
Pisgah Legal has offices in Asheville, Brevard, Burnsville, Cashiers, Franklin, Hendersonville, Highlands, Marshall, Morganton, Newland, Rutherfordton, Spruce Pine and Waynesville.

Join Eyes Up Here Comedy & Modelface Comedy for the premiere open mic for the rest of us -- Everybody But You Bro is a comedy mic for women, non-binary, and femme folks to take the stage and tell jokes -- up to 5 minutes.
This is a queer and trans-inclusive mic.

We don’t punch down y’all!
Sign ups at 6pm and shows starts at 6:30pm and it’s show up and go up!
All are welcome for the audience, however hecklers will be asked to leave

The Baked Pie Company has an ever rotating selection of award-winning pies (as well as quiche, soup and salad); they even have pie flights! They also feature low sugar, sugar free, gluten free and vegan pies for those with dietary needs. So let's grab a slice of pie and build some community!

By the request of the Baked Pie Company, YOU MUST BE COVID-19 VACCINATED to attend this event. Please bring your vaccination card (or a photo on your phone of it). Don't worry if you can't make this one, though! It'll be a monthly event, so you'll have plenty of chances to get your pie on :)
