Indian Head Rail Trail Ride

Details

The Indian Head Rail Trail is a paved and very flat trail that runs for about 13.5 miles. We will start at the Indian Head side, at the parking area on Livingston Road (5000 MD-224) ride into White Plains, turn around and go back to Indian Head for a total of about 20 miles. It seems there's some trail closures further east of that so starting here should avoid those. I've never parked here as I've never had to deal with the trail closures so I'm not positive what to expect at the parking area.

I've ridden this before and it's a very easy ride, well maintained pavement and very flat. There's also some very nice scenery. As usual, this will be a laid back ride, not trying to break any speed records or bones. Not sure about the local restaurants as I've not partaken but I'm certainly open to suggestions if anyone has any. My guess is that we'll finish the ride itself in two or, at the most, three hours.

Any bike should be fine for this ride as it's very smooth pavement with little to no hills.

I plan on parking at either the Village Green or Charlie Wright Park and we can all meet at the starting point on the trail.
