What we’re about

Rank Mi Vote is a statewide organization which is advocating for the use of Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) in our elections. RCV allows voters to rank the candidates on the ballot in order of preference. We believe that RCV would make Michigan elections more competitive and fairer by encouraging the participation of more candidates and parties, and by ensuring outcomes that more accurately reflect the will of the voters. Here locally, our current goal is to change elections within the city of Kalamazoo to use RCV. The first step is to put a proposal on the November ballot. If this proposal passes, RCV will be used in future elections for Mayor and for city commissioners.

The deadline to finish collecting the required signatures is May 20 so anything you can do to help would be appreciated. In addition to collecting signatures at events, we will be doing door to door canvassing several times a week. If you are interested, please text me at 269-329-0314.

Note: Many people express interest in signing our petition but there is a catch, signatures are only valid for people who live within the Kalamazoo City limit. This creates confusion for some people who live outside the city limits. Even if they have a Kalamazoo mailing address or live in Kalamazoo township their signature will not be valid.

Google Maps provides an overlay which shows the city boundaries.
