•Women’s book club
•Recurrence: Monthly (Starting 2025: Last Wednesday of each month)
•Books selected: Attendees are presented with 3 book options, each person votes for 1 book. The book with the most votes is selected. Voting occurs 2 months ahead
•Cost: $2 per attendee per month (cash only, please bring a toonie!); Optional yearly membership buy-in each January for $20
•Location: See event details
•Register on meetup to secure your spot! (we have a maximum capacity)
•Reading the book is not a pre-requisite, but expect to hear some spoilers!
The setting
•We will have a reserved section of the restaurant, and you can select a seat wherever you want within this section. We will provide name tags. We will have access to full regular menu as well!
•We opted to keep this book club exclusive to women, so as to provide a safe space where women can feel encouraged to speak their honest opinions.
Discussion
•We will have printed discussion questions relative to the book. If you haven’t finished the book (or haven’t read it at all), that’s ok! But expect spoilers.
Book Exchange
•We will have an area designated for books that you may have at home, that you’ve read and no longer have use for (we all have a few, collecting dust, don’t we?) Likewise, you are free to browse the books other women have brought and can take them home to read.

•In our experience, you can make really great friends at book club. All ladies welcome!

Welcome to our 3rd annual Holiday meetup of Read Between the Wines!
Game synopsis:
It’s a “dirty santa” style game – with books! Everyone comes with a book, and everyone leaves with a book.
What you need to bring:
1 book in new or gently used condition – select a book that you have previously read, loved, and recommend to your fellow book club ladies. Write the first line of the book on a piece of paper. Wrap the book in holiday wrapping, then tape the paper with the first line on the outside of the wrapping.
How to play:
One at a time in a randomly drawn sequence, attendees will browse the wrapped books and either select one from the table based on the first line or steal a previously unwrapped book.
•If your book has just been stolen from you, you can pick another from the table or steal another unwrapped book (not the one that was just stolen from you!)
•Each book can only be stolen 3 times. After 3 steals, it is considered “locked” (duplicate copies of the same book do not count – if there are 2 copies of the same book, EACH copy can be stolen up to 3 times)
•When it is the last person’s turn, we enter the final round. All previously “locked” books become unlocked in this round. The last person can take the last book from the table or steal any previously unwrapped book. In this round, each book can only be stolen once before it is locked again (as above, duplicate copies do not count). - January 2025 MeetupMilestones, Barrie, ON$2.00
