What we’re about

The Reasoned Readers Round Table is a welcoming space for book and debate enthusiasts to explore and analyze a diverse range of public domain works. Whether you're a seasoned reader or just starting your literary journey, we invite you to participate in engaging conversations about timeless classics, thought-provoking nonfiction, or captivating fiction.

Our meetings aim to:
• Foster critical thinking
• Expand our literary and intellectual horizons
• Connect and make friends
• Enjoy good company and have fun

We have round table discussion in which all participants have equal standing and opportunity to participate in the conversation. All participants also get equal vote on the readings or debate topics for upcoming meetings.

To make the group more accessible, we prefer readings that are freely available as e-books and audiobooks, for example books on Project Gutenburg or LibriVox. And we prefer topics for debate that are of broad general interest and that don’t require deep expertise to meaningfully engage with. We can also discuss works of public intellectuals that aren't necessarily readings, like public lectures, debates, podcasts, or interviews, as long as the material is freely available and easily accessible online.

So, if there are specific public domain books, public intellectuals, or topics for debate that you would like to discuss with us, please feel free to suggest them to the group.

And please join us to expand your literary horizons, challenge your perspectives, and engage in stimulating conversations with fellow book and debate lovers!
