What we’re about

Reclaim The Frame champions marginalised perspectives in cinema, and connects with audiences through community building and conversation.

The charity was founded as Birds’ Eye View in 2003, and is now now an organisation that works all year round to support, and build audiences for, films by filmmakers of marginalised genders.

We continue to diversify audiences;  developing safe and accessible spaces for conversation, promoting a de-patriarchal, de-centralised and de-colonised lens on the world, and advocating for social justice in all film spaces.

We create safe spaces and further the conversations sparked by the films we support and host preview and week-of-release screenings, workshops and activities.

We also invite filmmakers, cultural influencers, social justice campaigners, academics, artists, activists and critics into the cinema for discussions together with audiences.

In Scotland in 2024, we host events at both Glasgow Film Theatre and Edinburgh’s Cameo Picturehouse.
