What we’re about
A way to bring people together, especially those looking for meaningful connection and a way to discuss things like empathy, vulnerability, and compassion. A space for people to open up, share their thoughts, and have discussions on what it means to be human in today’s world. This group is focused on creating an atmosphere of openness and non-judgment, through reflective activities, like sharing personal stories & even guided exercises that encourage people to connect with their emotions and those of others.
Ideas for group events could include:
• A roundtable discussion where everyone shares what they feel makes them human or their experiences of empathy.
• Guided mindfulness or meditation exercises to help people reconnect with themselves.
• Group activities focused on listening skills, where people practice active listening and speaking from the heart.
• Sharing quotes, testimonies, or stories from those who’ve experienced personal growth or transformation.
-It’s not always easy, but it’s essential for healing the divisions between people. Everyone has their own struggles, and sometimes those struggles lead to selfishness or a lack of empathy.
-When we show empathy for others, even those who harm us, it might not change them immediately—but it can soften our own hearts and break down some of the barriers that separate us. It’s a kind of strength to hold onto love and empathy, even when it’s challenging. It creates the potential for mutual understanding, no matter how distant it may seem.
Ultimately, loving those who hurt us isn’t about accepting the hurt—it’s about maintaining our own humanity in the face of it.
