There is this terrible show...
One shiksa falls for a rabbi. Her sister is hilarious. She and her sister are affectionately known as Whore 1 and Whore 2. The rabbi's brother is also hilarious, and the brother's wife (Esther) is even more hilarious.

It's terrible mostly because once you start, amongst the laughing and upwelling of feel-good emotions, you just can't stop until it is done. I am going to try to pull away from my couch, turn off Netflix, finally take a shower, order some more take-out, once again join the living, and go on a little hike...

On this hike, we will go and see if:

1. there are any Lupine Flowers growing on the Pa'san Ridge Trail, it might be too early but let's check.
and,
2. we can get up to the table mountain that is next to the Pa'san Ridge Trail.

At the top of the Pa'san Ridge Trail there is an apparent trail between two mountains that appear to make a path to the top of the Table Mountain. Appear, as in it is not certain, or as in it might be difficult due to the lack of trail, or as in we may not even get to the top as we are not actually following any trail at all, or as in it is an adventure so half the fun is just attempting to do something creative, new, and with no anticipation of ever making it to the top (but, just know that for sure we'll make it to the top! and that we'll add about 2 miles and 1,000' of extra elevation to the regular Pa'san Ridge loop hike).

But assuming that we do make it to the top of the Table Mountain, after bushwhacking through unknown and never traversed mountainside slopes, I will also assume, that at the top, we'll find a beautiful grassy field with a spectacular view of the valley below. Of course, this spot will be covered with beautiful wildflowers and will be one of the most spectacular places that we have ever seen in our nearby mountains. This spot is just begging for us to throw a giant blanket, take a 10 minute siesta, and enjoy a wonderful picnic. I have just the right drink to pair well with the spectacular view - great!

Logistics...

• The start of the hike is just past 8:00 am at the trailhead. For those that want to caravan get to Woodward Park Starbucks by 7:00 am. Cars will load and be on their way by 7:02 am as some of the group will be waiting for us at the trailhead (50 min drive from Woodward Park).

• It costs $10, I think - though it may be only $5, to park at San Joaquin Valley Gorge next to the trailhead. Bring some cabbage with you so that your driver isn't the only one paying the parking cost, and please offer your driver some gas money ($15 should suffice).

• We'll wait a couple of minutes at the trailhead, then we'll introduce ourselves and we'll start our hike around 8:05 am.

• This hike is about 10 miles with decent, \~2,500 feet, elevation gains. It's not Everest, but it's no walk in the park either. Rating = (make sure that your are ready to sweat) not quite habanero spicy but definitely a strong jalapeno heat.

• Bring 2 liters of water (1 liter of wine), and a snack/lunch for a nice break at the top of the ridge loop.
