Details
Monthly Club meeting at Skipolini’s
5:30-7:30pm
Happy hour ends at 6:00
Come join us this month to share the experience of the historic GAP/C&O. Carolyn and Tad personally designed this awesome trip in which 11 Reno locals participated in March of 2024, and 9 of them are Pedalers’ club members.
What is the GAP-C&O???
The Great Allegheny Passage (GAP) is a 150-mile rail trail between Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Cumberland, Maryland. Together with the C&O Canal ( Chesapeake and Ohio) towpath, the GAP is part of a 335 mi (539 km) route between Pittsburgh and Washington, D.C., that is popular with through hikers and cyclists.
The C&O Towpath is a dirt and stone path that runs 184.5 miles along the C&O Canal, where visitors can walk, run, or bike the distance between Georgetown and Cumberland, MD. It was originally built for the canal mules to walk beside the canal as they “towed” the canal boats through the waterway. Today, it is a popular recreational trail.
Join us at Skipolini's (Sierra Summit Mall at 13971 So. Virginia St.) Social hour is at 5:30 PM and the meeting starts at 6:20PM. A short open discussion starts the meeting followed by a special presentation.
Take advantage of Skipolini's Happy Hour specials available from 2 pm until 6 pm, Monday through Friday. Calamari, meatball sliders, and buffalo chicken wings are just a few items on the Happy Hour menu. Drinks include several types of wine and beer.
We look forward to seeing you there!
