Mission to Red Rock -- Out in the Northern Boonies

Details

This is a ride we have done only a couple of times and typically in the fall or early spring. Because the weather has been pretty cool we will start late. We will watch the weather as there is a small chance of rain predicted which could increase or decrease as the week goes on.

This road goes about 25 miles out into the boonies to the North of the city and I had never ridden it until a week ago. The road bears some similarity to Foothill road that we often ride down near Genoa. It is a country road with spread out residences along it. The difference between Red Rock and Foothill is that the Rollers are bigger on Red Rock and Red Rock does have some gentle but extended climbs. There is a shoulder for portions of Red Rock but it comes and goes, but the traffic is low on Red Rock (at least during my test ride) and there is no real destination other than residences at the end of the road. I did enjoy my test ride.
