According to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, AI is projected to contribute a staggering $315 billion to the Australian economy by 2030. However, despite this immense potential, enterprise AI adoption in Australia remains slow, with notable uptake only in popular tools like ChatGPT, other LLM’s and Co-Pilots. Australia's progress in AI also lags globally, accounting for only 0.24% of global AI patent filings.
Australia boasts world-class talent and pioneering technologies along with organisations such as the National AI Centre and Department of Industry, Science and Resources, so the resources to drive responsible AI growth are already here.
Responsible AI could enable Australia to compete on the global stage more effectively, provided we approach it with a commitment to ethical, secure, and transparent use.
This Meetup is organised by Natural Velocity, an Australian company dedicated to accelerating responsible AI adoption to help Australia achieve its potential in this space.
