Milky Way over Powhatan Wilderness Area

Details

What? I can still photograph the Milky Way in October?

Yes, an advantage of late-in-the-season Milky Way pictures is that you can get your picture and drive home--all before 9:30pm. Am I serious?

Yes, and a bonus is your picture will capture the stars as a nice reflection in the water. Another Bonus? The arc of the Milky Way will be near vertical to the water--a position in which many find the most attractive of sky nightscapes. And yes, you can get this all in one shot.

If you are a novice and taking your first night photo, I will be available to assist and help you every step of the way.

Due to space limitations, the limit will be to the first six to signup. However, do not hesitate to signup to be on the waitlist. People inevitably cancel, or the date changes to a day or two earlier/later than the actual scheduled event.

Necessary to bring with you are a tripod, a wide angle lens (f 1.8-2.8 is preferred)
