What we’re about
Riverside Raspberry in a Nutshell
So what is this Raspberry Pi thing anyway? Well the Raspberry Pi is a small computer on a printed circuit board, costing around $35. Its stated primary goal is to spark kids’ interest in computer programming, but it has shown a huge appeal to both kids and adults with other interests such as electronics, robotics, and open source software. It has a good balance of reasonable power, an open design, and a very low cost that makes it a great platform for experimenting on. This group will appeal to thinkers and tinkerers, the scientifically curious, software developers looking to get into embedded development, or anyone young or old that has a knack for tech in general. The purpose of Riverside Raspberry is to share knowledge related to the Raspberry Pi device specifically, and to promote interest in tech development in the Inland Empire in general. The group is currently meeting the 2nd Monday evening of every month.
While the group is focused on the Raspberry Pi specifically, we also cover topics about Arduino, ESP8266/ESP32 and other platforms, as well as have discussions about various programming languages, and electronics in general. Any subject related to embedded development is fair game!
