Mobile Robots #04 @ Zollhof - Drones & Wildfire detection

Details

It's time for our next meetup, and we have yet another awesome startup & speakers - we are going to welcome the team from Evolonic, who are developing drones for forest fire detection! 🔥🚁

🚨 Please note - we'll be at another location this time! The great people from Zollhof are hosting us, see the event details here on this page on how to get there. 🚨

1️⃣ Topic #1 - Evolonic: Forest fire detection with drones

Adrian Sauer, the team leader of Evolonic, and Leon Seidel (structural design, aerodynamics, as well as computer vision engineering) will give us an in-depth view into their drone startup and the underlying technology.
We'll learn about both the hardware and the software side - there's a ton to see and learn there, as they are building their own drone, a mobile hangar, and of course the computer vision software to detect smoke and fire.

The company has been around since 2018 and won several prices in the past - with their team of around 20 people, they have already secured a bunch of project partners (think fire departments) and even caught the attention of the political leadership of Bavaria.

2️⃣ Topic #2 - Latest news from pib: Hackathon and building legs!

The pib.rocks team has not been idle over the summer and made some significant progress during their Hackathon (at an old farm near the North Sea!).
Mainly: pib is getting legs! 🤖🦿

⏱️ Agenda:
18:00 Doors open
18:30 pib.rocks Updates: Hackathon and legs
19:00 Evolonic
20:00 Pizza and Drinks

💡 Bring Your Ideas And Questions: Got a project or concept you're passionate about? We'd love to see it! Consider this an open invitation to share your work with like-minded enthusiasts.

😊 Have a good time: There'll be plenty of time to connect with others in the group!
