What we’re about
We are a small non-denominational meditation group, meeting weekly for one hour for rest and renewal. Come join us as you can, no obligation. It's free.
We start with a brief reading and ring a bell for 10 minutes of silent meditation and breathing practice. We offer a poem to encourage us in our practice of meditation, and then we sit for another round of 20 minutes of silent meditation, followed by tea and brief conversation before heading home. We share a verse on gratitude. The practice is simple. Silence and breathing. Everyone is welcome and people may share a poem. This group is led by Zen meditation teacher Martine Palmiter (joyfulmindzendo.org) and poet Susan Drilea.
We meet in the Rockville United Church, 355 Linthicum Street in Twinbrook, MD. Plenty of parking, near the Twinbrook Library. Beginners are welcome. We can offer brief instruction in meditation if desired.

Which is worth more, a crowd of thousands, or your own genuine solitude?
Freedom, or power over an entire nation?
A little while alone in your room will prove more valuable than anything else
