Resiliency Circle
Details
As the darkest part of the year unfolds this month we look ahead to the long winter. Rest is innately part of this season and healing can flow through many channels to help us feel restored.
We will circle and discuss seasonal rhythms, health and resilience.
Just for fun, bring something to share if you are so inclined. Books, food, elixirs, crafts, music or ? to show or to give away. The gift economy is a significant part of resiliency planning and waste reduction. Nothing is required and everyone is welcome.

Planning for 2025 is open: If you have a project to share or questions about permaculture practice please post in the comments section of this event or come to a meetup. Or contact the organizer (Claudia) directly through this meetup site.

Group Seed Order
We have the opportunity to organize a bulk order from Fedco Seeds. At the $1,200 threshold, orders receive a bulk discount of 10%. Savings on seeds will be marginal financially, unless you plan to place a significant order. However, free shipping is offered on orders over $50, so small buyers will save there. Each order will be bundled separately. My understanding is that each person submits their order individually and a combined package comes to a single address for distribution to all participants.
There are many companies we might wish to support with our purchase of seeds. For instance, Hudson Valley Seed is a beautiful local resource acting on their intentions in a lovely way that many members adore. There are many incredible seed companies to choose from. Fedco is a long standing seed cooperative in Maine that works with a diverse network of small growers as well as growing seed themselves.
I am interested in bulk ordering since it will bring group members together in cooperation and connect us through the distribution process. A central delivery point is both a bother and a blessing.
If we plan now, seeds could be here by February for indoor starts. We could distribute at the meetup on February 11 and have an alternate pick-up option as well. I assume that each person will pay as they order and no collection of funds will be required. If we order early, there is less likelihood that a seed stock will be sold out. You will be able to choose if you will accept a substitution or prefer a refund on sold out items. Fedco has an extensive catalog that is fun to browse whether you order seeds from them or not. Members are invited to respond. - CJ
