Aurora Biennial 2024 - Let's Go!
Details
If you like downtown Dallas at night, art, lights, music, and interesting (maybe weird) experiences, I hope you'll join me to go to the Aurora Biennial in downtown Dallas. I've been to this a couple of times several years ago and it's very cool and fun.
Schedule:
6:00 pm - meet at the Rowlett DART Station
6:17 pm - leave on DART train
6:54 pm - arrive at Akard Street Station
7:00 pm - begin walk toward Aurora installations near Dallas City Hall
7:15 pm - arrive at Akard and Young near Information Tent
PLEASE NOTE: If you are not leaving from Rowlett and want to meet us at the Akard Station or at Akard and Young streets, you must comment where you will meet up with us; we will not wait if we do not know you are meeting us elsewhere.
Equipment:
Fast lens if you have one, wide angle, zoom, anything in between, tripod if you want to mess with it. This will be at night, but we will be shooting things that for the most part "light up" and, depending on how crowded it might be, a tripod could get in the way. We are going at the start of the thing, though, so hopefully the crowds will get there later in the evening as it runs from 7:00 pm - 1:00 am. If your tripod is easy to carry and doesn't get in the way if you can't use it, then bring it.
We can walk around the event and try to stay somewhat together or determine a time and place to meet back up should we get separated. I have included a link to the event, which does have a map of the layout. You are asked to Register to Attend (link at bottom right) and all it did was ask for my email to put me on the mailing list. I haven't gotten anything else other than a thank for you signing up. The event is free, but I'm thinking they want to get a count of how many to expect and may cut it off after a certain number of registrations, but I don't know for sure.
Once we've seen all we want to see, we can go find a restaurant or bar to get something to eat or drink for those who are interested or just head back, whatever the group consensus is.

Weather: If it happens to be very cold or raining, will probably cancel this. It's always a crapshoot in the winter with the weather, but mid-November usually isn't too extreme.
