What we’re about
We are a community that promotes exercise for both walkers and runners, and so much more. Atlanta Running Meetup is known for being very casual, warm, and friendly.

Since the inception of Atlanta Running Meetup in February of 2008, we have evolved into a thriving community that promotes friendships, networking opportunities, and yes, exercise. We are a grass roots community, and as such, we do not rely on any corporate sponsorships or advertising. We exist to promote community, friendships and exercise, not a specific product or company.
The Saturday runs typically take place in Piedmont Park. We meet at Caribou Coffee to gather up and socialize before the run. Caribou Coffee is located at the corner of 10th St. & Piedmont Ave (across the street from The Flying Biscuit). We leave Caribou promptly at the top of the hour and head to the park. The routes are structured so that members can walk or run 2.5 or 5 miles, depending on personal preference. No one is left walking or running alone, unless they prefer that. One of the best parts of the morning is taking in a well deserved breakfast afterward with fellow walkers and runners. It's a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to meet other like-minded people. Feel free to send me a message if you have any other questions.
**Parking (for Saturday)** 10th street, 11th street, 12th street, and Piedmont are options for parking, as well as side streets off of 10th Street like Myrtle St. Please DO NOT park your vehicle at Caribou while in the park, or any other surrounding businesses.
The Sunday run is typically a long training run, so read the event description and be prepared to run as described. The route for this group varies, so be sure to check Meetup for details.
The Monday night run meets at Park Tavern. This is an out-and-back run, so mileage varies according to each participant. Check Meetup or the Facebook page for updates. On rainy days the Tavern offers $1 beers.
We go out of our way to make everyone feel welcome and accepted in this group. Come join us! With the expansion of the park and Beltline, Atlanta offers some fantastic scenery and running paths.
