Book Club - The Song of Achilles

In this next month we will be reading the Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, an award winning fictional novel of the retelling of the Trojan War. Set during the Greek Heroic Age, the tale is told from perspective of Patroclus, Achilles friend. The novel follows Patroclus' relationship with Achilles, from their initial meeting to their exploits during the Trojan War, with focus on their romantic relationship. In 2012, The Song of Achilles was awarded the Women's Prize for Fiction.

We request that any person who signs up to attend this book club makes a good-faith effort to read the books we select each month. Given that our typical venues make it difficult for more than a dozen attendees to sit together and converse comfortably, we do not want anyone who takes the time and effort to read our books to have their spot taken by someone who did not.
