West Coast Swing Dance Class

Have fun and make new friends while learning to dance in a friendly, supportive environment. West Coast Swing is the ideal dance for any club setting, adaptable to almost any music in 4/4 time. This versatility makes it incredibly popular and useful.

West Coast Swing is a "slotted" dance, where dancers follow an imaginary narrow rectangle or "slot." The follower is guided back and forth along this slot by the leader, who only steps out of the slot to direct the follower past them. Most dance patterns are variations of a few basic moves. Unique to West Coast Swing, there is no single "basic step." Instead, the basics are composed of 6 and 8 count patterns, incorporating various open and closed dance positions.

No partner is needed, and regardless of your gender identity, you can choose to lead, follow, or do both.

Join us on Tuesdays to build your foundation. Once you master the 6 and 8 count basics, progress to our Wednesday classes to explore more advanced dance concepts. You can attend the first class (focused on 6 count patterns), or the second class (focused on 8 count patterns), or stay for both.

The cost is $15 for one class or $20 for both classes.
