Sunday Fat Bike Ride @ Lambert Park
Details
I'm really looking for a ride this weekend. Hopefully snow it won't be too deep after Saturdays storm, but probably we'll be breaking trail so we'll make the best of it
Be at the trail head READY TO RIDE at 8:30am. It is usually cold at the beginning of the ride so I don't sit and wait too long.
Normally, you want a bike with 4-5" tires on it as you want as much floatation as possible. The trail is snow covered and it will be cold so dress up accordingly (layers, etc). Riding in the snow makes it way more challenging on the climbs so I'll ride at my own pace and rest and regroup as needed.
Trails in this area are pretty short so I'm assuming we'll have to lap a few to get some mileage, still I'm thinking we should be around 5-7 miles
This ride is intermediate fitness, and low technical, with the added difficulty of the cold night and deep snow under your tires.
Disclaimer: Chances you will crash once your front tire goes off track into deep snow...it is part of the experience ...lol.
Dress up in layers and bring a wind breaker or similar for the downhill.
This ride is completed in 2 - +hrs of riding time.
Any questions, please post it in the comments sections.
I hope to see you there!
P.S. I ride a blue Surly Moonlander and I drive a blue Honda Ridgeline
