If you enjoy listening, jam play, networking with San Diego bluegrass musicians, you have landed on the right Meet Up group. Join us today. Here's who we are.
Welcome. Please join us. This Meetup platform is created to help build and expand the San Diego Bluegrass Society (a nonprofit 501(c)(3). The SDBS board members are all volunteers without salary. And SDBS membership for only $20/year (and may be tax deduction) helps the community with music and friendships. Here's a link to explore who and what is SDBS. http://www.sandiegobluegrass.org/
1. Educating all young and old about the history of bluegrass music in America. 2. Regular jam sessions and open mics on the second and fourth Tuesday of every month, with a featured band on the fourth Tuesday. 3. We bring bluegrass concerts by local and traveling bands. 4. We cooperate with other bluegrass organizations, including International Bluegrass Music Association and our sister organization in San Diego, The North County Bluegrass and Folk Club; we promote a variety of bluegrass related activities. 5. We're founders and supporters of Summergrass, a premier 3-day bluegrass festival held each August. 6. Organizers of an annual Bluegrass Day at the Fair, at the San Diego County Fair in Del Mar. 7. We conduct a music outreach program with San Diego Bluegrass Society and Emma’s Gut Bucket Band to bring bluegrass music and instruction to public and private schools, to senior centers, assisted living facilities, homeless centers and the like at no cost. 8. We bring other activities to promote bluegrass music in San Diego
