Sunday Morning Hike to Mt Woodson/Potato Chip Rock

Please join us for the ever-popular Mt. Woodson-Potato Chip Hike on Sunday Morning! This will begin our ALZ.org “The Longest Day” or TLD hiking series to remember those friends and family members fighting Alzheimer’s. Please join us!

Very Important: This hike is moderately strenuous, and not a beginner hike. We will begin our hike promptly at 8 am.

Miles: 6.5-7.5
Elevation Gain: 1500-1700 ft
Difficulty: Moderate
Pace: Moderate
Time: 4+ hours (we will take a good break at the top to allow for exploration and photos and a good snack).

Where to meet: Park on the side of Highway 67, just south of the intersection with Archie Moore Road and Hwy 67. There's a guardrail there near where our trail begins. Park near the guardrail. We will begin our hike promptly at 8 am.

The trail is well maintained but there are slippery/steep portions at the beginning and end. This is an out and back hike.

Note: We will exercise caution and take necessary steps to protect ourselves and others on the trail.

What to bring:
-at least 1.5 liters of water, water bladder
-good hiking shoes
-electrolytes
-snacks
-wear layers, the temperature can change quickly
-sunscreen
-sunglasses
-sun hat
-hiking poles (optional)
