Name: Super Duper Leisure Sunday Bike Ride in Mission Bay

Please arrive at least 20 minutes early. We will roll out promptly at 10:15a.

The plan for this Sunday bike ride is to have a super duper leisure day on our bikes while soaking in the sun in Mission Bay. Super duper leisure means we are not going fast but to casually bike to loosen our muscles from hiking the day before. At certain sections of the bike/walking path when there is heavy foot traffic we will lower our speed. If the walkway is too congested then we will get off our bike and walk until it is safe to get back on. Please be patient they are also outdoor enthusiasts.

First time riders are welcome you should already know how to handle your bike especially your brakes and have been out riding. We will ride on bike paths and bike lanes (street). I will try to keep us away from riding near heavy vehicle traffic as best as possible before getting back onto the bike paths. We will do a couple regroups no one is left behind. Please note everyone's SAFETY is our #1 priority!

ROUTE & SPEED: We will either ride clockwise, counterclockwise or out & back on Mission Bay Bayside Bike Path and a small section on bike lanes (street). Due to occasional pedestrian traffic please ride the speed limit where noted or go slower dependent on foot traffic. Expect to ride around 5 – 7 mph. Do not sign up if your plan is to ride at top speed and will not adjust to our super leisure Sunday pace.

RIDING DISTANCE: Roughly 12-13 miles total. We will ride together as a group. We will take a short break for snacks and to use the restroom half way into our ride.

MANDATORY: A good working bike, bike helmet; extra tube; mini-hand pump or a couple C02 kit.

BRING: Water, snacks, sunblock, sunglasses, a small first-aid kit and a light jacket.

GUESTS: If you bring a guest (+1) please share the descriptions and ride with him or her. The description and event requirements also applies to your guest.

RESTROOM FACILITIES: There is a restroom where we are parking and a couple during our ride.

WHERE TO PARK & MEET: Park at the De Anza Boat Launch parking lot meet me near the restroom. From I-5 exit Clairemont Drive and drive west and go over the freeway. Turn right (north) on East Mission Bay Drive then turn left into the large boat launch parking lot. Please leave valuables at home or hidden from sight.

Parking Citations are given if you park on parking stalls for vehicles with attached boat trailers. To avoid a parking ticket do not park there.

Please do not come if your are sick and not feeling well.
NO SHOWS frowned upon and will be marked.
