Join Me in kicking off the week Or Monday blues with a hike from Highway 67 side to the top of Mt. Woodson. We will be hiking up on the Fry / Koegel Trail to Mt. Woodson, but coming down will be on the paved fire road. Total distance is about 6 miles. We will take short break at the Potato Chip to regroup, pics, and quick energy snack(if needed). I’m estimating about 2-2.5 hours.

This is an easier hike to the top of Mt. Woodson than hiking from Lake Poway, but that does not mean it is an "easy" hike. This is an intermediate hike.

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

We will meet and begin at the State of California, Dept of Forestry Station Sign on Highway 67, before reaching Ramona. When coming from the Iron Mtn Trailhead Parking Lot, the Station is about 3 miles north on Highway 67, located on the left hand side. I recommend passing the Station and making a U Turn. Park on Highway 67 near the Station.

PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY. HIGHWAY 67 TRAFFIC IS FAST AND COULD BE HEAVY AT THAT TIME.

Be there at 5:00pm and begin hiking no later than 5:07pm.

BRING your usual hiking supplies including water, snack, poles, etc. Watch for the weather forecast. It could be warm, it could cold, it could be threatening rain, it could be windy. Dress accordingly.

There is NO WATER and NO BATHROOM.

No Shows will be frowned upon and marked.
