If you've ever wondered about hiking at night this is the hike for you! Come experience Cowles Mountain with far fewer hikers and see it in a whole new light or dark as it may be...

Now that the time has changed, we will be starting in the dark.

You'll need a head lamp or flashlight.

Please read the following before signing up.

This will be a dual host hike, broken up into 2 groups.

When you sign up, PLEASE answer the question if you will be going on to Pyles peak, or hiking only to Cowles summit. **FYI: The Pyles group is very FAST!**

Attendees will meet at the Trailhead by 6p and leave no later than 6:05pm. **DON'T FORGET YOUR HEADLAMP OR FLASHLIGHT!**

Hike description:
Join us for a hike to the summit of Cowles to burn off a few calories and enjoy the view along the way. We'll start at the trailhead on Barker Way (off Boulder Lake) and head up Barker Trail to the summit of Cowles and choose our return route at the summit. We can either return down the trail or take the service road down.

Distance: About 3 miles round trip for Cowles Mountain. About 6 miles round trip for Pyles Peak.

For those continuing beyond Cowles Mountain, the number of people on the trail usually drops dramatically. This is a moderate hike with uphill & downhill that repeats itself.

The Pyles group may spend just a few minutes atop Cowles before heading off to Pyles. About 5 minutes at Pyles before heading back.

Please bring: Headlamp or flashlight, water, proper hiking shoes, a snack for yourself (if you want one).

Note: If you are not feeling well, please do not come.
