What we’re about
Welcome to the San Francisco Women's Group.
Here is what we stand for:
- Women Have a Right to Live.
- Women Have a Right to Freedom.
- Women Have a Right to Equality.
We’re living in a time when social media, apps, and the internet are being used in ways that threaten our rights. These platforms are amplifying patriarchy, totalitarianism, and oppression—and making them seem normal.
Why is this happening, how can we fix it? Let’s come together to figure this out.
Some ideas to consider for fixing it:
- Let's get together and re-network face to face.
- Let's find better ways to use tech to help each other. (Even if we have to do in person phone trees till we write our own contacts app that makes it easier.)
- Let's help each other with everything we can and want to: politics, building community trust, child care, elder care, job share cup o milk, a place.... whatever. Lets find a way to make it easy and cheap.
Why networking better helps fight for rights and against autocrats:
We can set up disinformation checks with each other. And find first hand information. We can support each other's emotional health. We get more money, power, jobs if we share rather than pay for space, childcare, and elder care. We can find better ways to promote women's rights online. Even if we have almost no extra time.... we can share a smile and a bit of encouragement.
We can bring our collective brains and diverse experiences to the table. This is a space where women are centered, but everyone is welcome to join. We need nerds, preschool teachers, psychologists, business leaders, media analysts, dancers, designers, and more. We need people from all walks of life who are ready to fight for women’s rights, rule of law, justice and freedom.
It’s time to take action.
At our next meeting, a speaker will outline the causes of these issues, and we’ll work together to brainstorm solutions. We’ll use small breakout groups (4 people) to discuss, refine, and vote on the best ideas. Afterward, we’ll network and take action to bring those ideas to life.
This is about reclaiming our power. We cannot stand by while women’s basic human rights are stripped away—whether through abortion bans or the rise of totalitarianism. Both are looming, and we must act before it's too late.
Join us at the next meeting.
Together, we’ll make a difference.
