What we’re about
This is a monthly group that will meet on the first Sunday of the month to explore the best of the Bay Area outdoors, and give you an opportunity to meet other active people over 45 looking to hike and make new friends. Hikes will be around 5-8 miles, and will be moderately strenuous. Do not join this group if you do not enjoy steep hill climbs. Hike locations will be announced on the Thursday before the scheduled hike to ensure the best possible experience based on the predicted weather. Hike locations will be a maximum distance of 50 miles from San Francisco. Hikes will begin at 10 am, with a 1/2 hour lunch break in the middle. Location announcement will be sent to your email and an RSVP within 24 hours of the announcement is requested. There is a maximum of 20 hikers per outing and the first 20 hikers to respond YES will be admitted. Elliot Goliger, owner of Heron's Head Nursery in San Francisco, and San Francisco California Native Plant Society board member will lead hikers through some of the most diverse and unique natural areas in the world. Pack a lunch, and prepare to be amazed!
