What we’re about
We are the Santa Lucia Chapter of the Sierra Club, a 120+ year old organization dedicated to environmental protection and preservation through promoting appreciation for the natural world. You do not have to be a Sierra Club member to be part of our Meet-up Group.
Join us on hiking, backpacking, camping and other outdoor adventures in and around SLO County! Our activities also include outdoor skills training such as wilderness first aid, navigation and outdoor leadership.
Sierra Club outings leaders are trained in and practice safe wilderness travel and our schedule includes hikes for all levels of fitness and experience.
Please note that hike leaders have the right and responsibility to refuse a participant for lack of appropriate clothing/footwear/gear, insufficient water or food, offensive behavior or refusal to comply with leader direction at any time during the hike. Hikes may be cancelled at the leader’s discretion due to inclement weather or conditions or insufficient participation. Feel free to contact the leader prior to the hike if you have questions or concerns.
