Hike Spring Lake from Lime Kiln Road

Join us for a 3-4 mile hike in the back section of Spring Lake Preserve.

Directions from IH 35:

Take Exit 206, go toward town on TX-82 Loop/Aquarina Springs Drive (lots of construction, take care).

Do not get on the overpass (currently under construction). At the T, turn right on Post Road.

Left after 0.4 miles on Lime Kiln Road (Travis Elementary school will be on the left hand corner).

Continue on Lime Kiln for approximately 0.75 miles. Look for parking lot on the left.

As always, join us for food and conversation at a local restaurant after the hike.

Please note that if you are an experienced hiker, this and all other trails in San Marcos are easy. However, if you are a novice hiker, you need to know that many San Marcos trails are extremely rocky. There are often elevation changes of 50 to 150 feet.

We hike at a moderate pace of about 3 miles an hour.

If you have problems with balance or need to walk slowly, this hike probably is not for you. However, we encourage you to join us for our regular city and neighborhood walks.
