Welcome to our Jazz Dance Meetup Group! Join us for an all levels class that will teach you the foundations of jazz dance and apply it to playful, upbeat choreography each week. Jazz technique is incredibly versatile and can be blended with a wide variety of dance forms. You will develop balance, agility, power, and style while learning to express musicality and emotion through jazz dance’s characteristic contrast of sharp and fluid movements.
What to expect: We will guide you through a warm up of light cardio and dynamic stretching, then practice key elements of jazz dance including body isolations, syncopated footwork, pivots, turns, and kicks. In the second half of class, you will put your new skills to the test, dancing lively choreography to dynamic pop, rock, or theatrical music.
Featuring on the Broadway stage, the Hollywood big screen, and in your favorite music videos, jazz dance’s classic style has supported its widespread use in communicating story and emotion.

• No special clothes are required, what feels comfortable for you is good.
• Please wear clothing that allows for unrestricted movement. Dance slippers, dance sneakers, or socks are preferable for footwear. Dance shoes available for sale at our dance boutique.

PARKING (studio has 8 parking spots available):
FREE On-Street Parking After 6pm and in all city-owned parking facilities everyday after 6pm and all day Sundays and on city-designated holidays.
Kiku Parking Garage with 526 spaces is located at 400 E. 5th Avenue in San Mateo, parking is Free Mon-Sat after 6pm and all day Sunday (you can park there and walk two blocks to the studio).
