The 2025 Ididahike will be held on the Cross Florida Greenway in Marion County .The FTA Sandhill Chapter is hosting the event. Registration check-in will be at the Ross Prairie Trail Head and Camp Ground. Starting at 8 am hikers will be shuttled to their starting points for a great experience on this section of the Florida National Scenic Trail(FNST). Shuttles will run until approximately 11am.

There will be three hiking distances. hikers will be shuttled to their preferred Trail Head and hike back to Ross Prairie.

Landbridge to Ross Prairie 10.3 miles

49th St to Ross Prairie 6.9 miles

Shangri-La Camp Ground to Ross Prairie 5 miles

The FSNT traverses through grounds that were once planned to be the Cross Florida Barge Canal. Diggings from over 60 years ago left terrain that has many elevation changes and creates some moderate hiking. New growth forests allow for a shaded hike.

For those looking for additional activities before and after the Ididahike , the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway has a 16 mile paved bicycle trail from the Santos Trail Head to the Ross Prairie Trail Head. Hikers can also at their ease or pleasure, hike on the many other trails in the Marjorie Harris Cross Florida Greenway.

Kayakers can travel just a few miles south of the Ross Prairie Camp Ground to the Withlacoochee River or may travel west to Dunnellon to kayak on the beautiful Rainbow River which is fed by its 1st Magnitude spring.

Those that may want to take a day after hiking to horse back ride can also try out Cactus Jacks Stables at the Landbridge trailhead of the Marjorie Carr Cross Florida Greenway.
