Sandhill Chapter Volunteer Work Party- Lake Butler Section

Join the Florida Trail Association Sandhill Chapter at the Lake Butler Volunteer Work Party. This event will be focused on the areas of the Florida Trail between S.R. 100, west of Lake Butler, to the campground; a total of 10 miles. There will be a combination of trail maintenance and driving to repaint blazes. Two Crews will form with trail maintenance efforts ranging from technical chainsaw work, mowing, brush clearing, and painting blazes.
Here's a checklist of PPE and other items (on your own-OYO) to bring along (if you have them available), if not we will have some for your use.

Please bring at least 3 liters of water, and you may want to consider a broad brimmed hat and sunscreen.

Also, we would like to request that if you have an underlying medical condition, that you provide the details (don't need to tell us, just keep on your person) so that in the unlikely event something happens we can attend to you best we can.
We are planning on meeting at the Walmart parking lot at 5700 NW 23rd St., Gainesville to carpool. We will depart at 7:30 am so please arrive on time as it's a long drive.
For those planning to meet at Lake Butler, we will meet at the Spires IGA Market at 610 SW 1st St, Lake Butler at 8:00 am
