DRUM CIRCLE
It's that time again to join the drum circle at San Dieguito Park in Solana Beach
on the FIRST SATURDAY of each month 2:00 - 5:00 pm (times vary a bit with the seasons and the weather; some folks sometimes arrive earlier to claim a spot and get set up.)
We play free-form jams with a few standard Latin, African, Middle-Eastern rhythms thrown in for foundation & fun. Dancing is encouraged - feel free to come & just dance or dance & drum or just drum. It's all good!
We are kid-friendly. Dogs are welcome as well, but they need to be on a leash. There are usually some small percussion toys for anyone to play, but dogs need special permission to use them. There are clean public restrooms nearby. Munchies are welcome! Please bring a folding chair if you need one.
Sometimes we video and occasionally post those videos to YouTube or Facebook. Let any person with a camera know if you do not want to be included in that.
DIRECTIONS TO LOWER SAN DIEGUITO PARK
We play in the lower portion of the park (the entrance is off El Camino Real)- however, the specific spot where we play often changes from month to month depending on availability, so you might just have to drive around the lower park for a few minutes until you spot (or hear) our group
Take I-5 to Lomas Santa Fe. Head east (away from the ocean) until you get to Highland (a 4-way stop sign). Turn Left on Highland and go all the way to the bottom of the hill where Highland ends at a 'T' and turn right on El Camino Real. A very short distance later on your right you will see the entrance to the park.
Turn in there & pay your parking fee $3 (bring dollar bills or lots of quarters for the machine).
See you there!
Every 1st Saturday of the month
