Living with Uncertainty: a look ahead to a new year full of unknowns.

Uncertainty is an inevitable part of life, but how do we manage it? How can we find meaning and peace in the unknown, considering perspectives from spirituality and historical events?

Example #1:
The Cuban Missile Crisis (1962): This 13-day confrontation between the U.S. and the Soviet Union during the Cold War was one of the most intense periods of uncertainty in modern history. Both nations were on the brink of nuclear war, and global tensions were at their peak. The uncertainty of what would happen next loomed over the world, and the crisis became a powerful example of how humans cope with high-stakes, life-threatening unknowns.

Event #2:
COVID-19 Pandemic (2020-Present): The COVID-19 pandemic thrust the entire world into a state of uncertainty. From the unpredictability of the virus’s spread to fluctuating government responses, the pandemic brought an unprecedented level of uncertainty into everyday life. Questions about health, safety, economic stability, and social structures became central to global discourse, highlighting the challenge of managing uncertainty in an interconnected world.
