Eagle-Vail-Las Trampas Peak Canine Friendly Hike
Details
This will be a 6.8 mile loop hike starting and ending on the Madrone Trail off Camille Lane in Alamo. Elevation gain is 2,200 feet, so it is not an easy stroll. It has some very steep sections, so wear good footwear (boots recommended.) You should be fit, able to walk 7 miles on steep hilly terrain. So should your dog. Please, no lapdogs. 20 lb minimum. Hike leader is bringing a 70 lb husky malamute. Please have voice control over your dog. We can have them off leash in undeveloped areas. At the beginning and end of the hike, which is a residential neighborhood, you'll need to keep them leashed. Bring food and water for yourself and for your pet, if you bring one. Dog treats are a welcome addition. If you don't bring a pet, we can put you in charge of one :-) We should enjoy nice views, lots of tail wagging and panting.
BRING: Layers, good footwear, water, snacks, a hat. Wear pants and long sleeves - there is poison oak all over the place!

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Type in Camille Trailhead on google maps and it should take you nearby. NO PARKING ON CAMILLE LANE. Park on Camille AVENUE, Forest Lane, Underhill Dr, or Ironwood Place. Then walk along Camille Lane to the entrance of the Madrone Trail, which has a cattle gate. Because the walking takes some extra time, we can assemble at the trailhead by 10:10 and start our hike at 10:15.
