What we’re about
Santa Barbara Healthy Happy Vegan Meetup brings together vegans, vegetarians and the veg-curious for fun, food, information sharing, and socializing. Occasional outings might include hikes, restaurant gatherings, picnics, etc.
Everyone is welcome to join us. Come alone or bring a friend to enjoy some delicious plant based dishes. Being vegan/plant based is easier than ever take it from me when I started this journey back in 1993.
Please keep in mind that our potluck dishes contain NO animal products whatsoever: this includes meats, eggs, cheese, milk, yogurt, butter and honey. Our potlucks will consist of mainly dishes. So break out those cookbooks, google search vegan recipes. Most major supermarkets have vegan items or dishes in the deli. Be creative, have fun, mix it up & don't just go and buy tortilla chips.
This is a group of varying backgrounds, lifestyles, knowledge and commitment. As a whole, we encourage first and foremost: compassionate tolerance. We understand the fact that everyone is on their own individual path. At the same time our goal is to keep the discussion and spread of information regarding the benefits of a plant-based diet alive and at the forefront. Those benefits include environmental, health related, social, and animal welfare issues. We encourage participation by all in the dialogue!
Hope to see you there!

We are back with Farm Sanctuary’s beloved annual event: Celebration for the Turkeys! This annual gathering is well-loved for its festive vegan food, time spent with rescued farm animals, inspiring speakers, and experiences of community and connection.
Join us for this year’s Celebration for the Turkeys on November 16, as we give thanks for the animals who call Farm Sanctuary home and celebrate the powerful ways that we can grow and come together as a community.
This community event will include opportunities for you to create enrichment activities for our animal residents, presentations from inspiring speakers, and ways to become more engaged in our mission—including symbolically adopting a turkey this holiday season. There will also be chances to connect with fellow guests while enjoying a delicious vegan holiday feast.
Whether you will be a returning regular to Celebration for the Turkeys or a newcomer visiting Farm Sanctuary and this popular annual event for the first time, this is a great opportunity to experience Farm Sanctuary as we work to provide refuge for farmed animals and promote a more just, compassionate, and sustainable plant-based food system. We look forward to celebrating with you!
