Come and find out what Nordic Walking is and how it may help you achieve your health goals.

Nordic Walking is a way to go for a nice walk and use not only the normal leg muscles that are the only muscles used in walking, running, or biking, but to also use the arms and upper body muscles to “push”, through specially designed pole/”glove” combination, on each step.

By “pushing” through with these poles, the walker is now fully activating nearly 90% of their body’s muscles on each step. This causes more calories to be burned, improves cardiovascular function, and significantly reduces strain on hips and knees, while aiding in improved balance.

Nordic Walking is an easy to do exercise that is fun and can be done anywhere you can walk, with friends, or alone.

In this introductory talk "Sam", the American Nordic Walking Association Certified Nordic Walking Instructor will discuss the history and medical benefits of Nordic Walking and will demonstrate the proper 10 step technique.
