SATED Group Support Meeting
Details
Welcome to SATED Group Support Meetings! This is your space to receive and offer support and accountability, while on your journey of managing and repairing disordered eating.
We won't ever tell you what to do or what not to do, what to eat or what not to eat. You already know what's best for you, and what it looks like when it works, in your approach to disordered eating. What SATED provides is 24/7 support and accountability for your chosen path out of this very common experience.
Robert Brault stated, famously, "Most of us don't need a therapist as much as a friend to be silly with."
While support groups may or may not be silly, the idea of sharing your experience of disordered eating with others who truly know and understand experientially the unique and complex challenges around it, is imperative for so many of us in an effort to find relief from its patterns.
In SATED, the core issue of self-harm through the use of food is addressed by folks from every space on the disordered eating spectrum. Because HOW we abuse ourselves with food is not as important as THAT we do it. Broadening the conversation to see this thing we do with food from a multitude of perspectives can go a very long way towards allowing us to relieve and repair the common, core issues behind our behavior.
This is accomplished for members in online support group meetings and through a shared, secure email address. In addition to the zoom meetings, you will be connected via email for those 3pm and 3am challenges. Emails provide a daily dose of support and accountability. It's a place to commit your intentions for the day. It's where you can receive support from the group. You may even connect more deeply with certain members and take steps to forge meaningful connections apart from group interaction. SATED email also provides a place to stand in your power and offer the same type of support when another member struggles.
Join us for a shared experience where you can be seen and heard by others who truly understand what it looks like to live with disordered eating and who are committed to managing and repairing this thing we do with food.
Every week on Saturday until December 27, 2024
