Hello SCFS Friends and Family. Seems like it was just a short few months ago that we were socializing and trekking through the trails of Poinsett State Park on a beautiful January Day.

Time has flown by, and yet another year is upon us to be celebrated. As we have in the past seasons, we've closed with a Christmas party and opened with a New Years Picnic and Hike.

This year, 2025, the friends and members of SCFS will meet at The City of Lexingtons newly renovated Gibson Pond Park. Many remember the floods in Oct 2015, which devastated Lexington County and many other communities in our state. The City of Lexington has gone above and beyond to bring this beautiful park back, blending in with its natural surroundings.

This year again, we encourage all members, if possible, to pitch in and bring finger food items, beverages, and deserts of your choosing. Water, utensils, and FIREWOOD is always appreciated.

This park has a beautiful 1/2 mile cemented walking trail adjacent to our large shelter with FIREPLACE for our enjoyment for those who want to use. Hiking is NOT a prerequisite but an option where others enjoy great socialization.
